Louise Robertson tragically fell to her death in 2018 and courageously donated her organs, to the benefit of three recipients, whose lives were transformed. Her father, Neil Robertson, will relate the events surrounding this heartbreaking event and how organ donation can give a new lease of life to so many others in need of help.

Matador Cattle Farm, Texas – Dundee Connection

Ewen Pate, retired Courier Farming Editor and distinguished farmer, will reveal the pioneering venture of a syndicate of Dundee Jute Barons who purchased and developed the highly profitable 130,000 acre Matador Cattle Farm in Texas from 1879 – 1951 and which still prospers to this day.

Ernest Shackleton and the Recovery of the Cross

Find out more about the Hope Cross, currently on display at Discovery Point, from Kim Turford-Mowat, Education and Communities Coordinator at the Dundee Heritage Trust. The Cross is a poignant symbol to Sir Ernest Shackleton, donated by fellow crew members, as a memorial after he perished in 1922.
